UVic ACM SC Hosts its First Event!

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our first event as an official ACM Student Chapter and as an official University of Victoria student Club! This event will be held on Wednesday, September 28th from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm in room ECS 108 at the University of Victoria.

Have you ever wondered what computer science is all about aside from programming? How about if it’s important to other domains or has broader applications?

If any of these questions raise any interest for you, then this event is for you! Join us, along with professors from a series of departments across the university, as we explore what computer science means to them, and how they apply it in their day-to-day work and research.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Alexandra Branzan Albu from the Engineering department,  Dr. Rebecca Halliday from the English department, Dr. Daniela Damien from the Computer Science Department, and Dr. Marianne Black from Mechanical Engineering.

This event is geared towards a general audience and will consist of a speaker panel as well as a social event. We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Victoria, as well as to our student chapter!
