University of Victoria ACM Student Chapter is one of the 680 chapters worldwide. This Chapter was officially chartered by ACM in March 07, 2022 and joined as UVic official club in September 2022. The purpose of the UVic ACM SC is to advance computing as a science and profession within the broad scope of the ACM. We will host events, workshops, seminars, competitions and much more that’ll help you expand your knowledge, enhance your skills and prepare for the industry.

Our Aim is to demonstrate to the greater student body that computer science encapsulates more than just programming. This includes introducing members to the lesser-known areas of computer science, such as the human-computer interactions domain, and various real-world applications of computer science such as within the field of business, art, psychology, and sociology.

Provide a stepping stone in making computer science more applicable to the general public through the execution of events and workshops that can present introductory computer science concepts and/or applications to individuals both, within and outside the computer science student body.
